Journeyman and Masters Program

According to the Massachusetts State Board of Electrical Examiners, prior to registering for the electrical licensing exam, the individual must complete the following:

  1. 8,000 hours of employment (approximately four years) as an apprentice under the direct supervision of a MA Class B Journeyman license; and
  2. 600 hours of classroom instruction in electrical code and theory from an approved school based on the current National Electrical Code.

    Monty Tech SCE is an approved school, offering an intensive 4 Modules, each with 150 hours of classroom training in electrical code and theory. Students will examine the National Electric Code, CMR 237 13.00-24.2, and MA Amendments Code, among many more specific topics. All students must begin each module in the fall semester only. Please note the meeting days specific to your module.
